The Vikings of Greenland. What happened to them?
About 986, Eirik Thorvaldsson, Eirik the Red, colonized Greenland. The population of the two main settlements increased to as many as four thousand people over the five hundred year history.
They had all disappeared by about the mid–15th century, perhaps before.
Come with us as we offer an explanation for this enduring mystery in our AXE OF IRON series of historical fiction novels. In these novels you will discover:
- How the Vikings settled Vinland - North America
- Key factors of their survival
- Daily life and culture
- Why they disappeared from Greenland and faded from history
- Did they "disappear," or are their descendants still here, somewhere?
